A new alpine-inspired party bar, Barbara’s Bier Haus, is set to open its doors in Brighton on Friday, November 21, promising après ski energy every night.
The venue, located on West Street in the former Walkabout site, will be the fifth Barbara’s Bier Haus in the UK and forms part of NEOS Hospitality’s rapidly expanding portfolio of nightlife destinations.
Russell Quelch, CEO of NEOS Hospitality, said:

From the atmosphere to the experience, everything we do is designed to make nights out more memorable, and we can’t wait to welcome Brighton guests through the doors this November.”
Barbara’s Bier Haus promises an immersive après ski experience complete with bartenders in lederhosen, shots served on skis and snowboards, themed music, and tower serves of beer and cocktails up to three feet tall.
Other quirky features will include a photo-ready gondola, a “disco toilet” that turns into a mini dance floor at the touch of a button, and free photobooths for guests to capture the fun.
The opening marks another step in NEOS Hospitality’s UK expansion, taking its venue count to 19 nationwide. The group has also recently launched Bonnie Rogues and Circuit in Kingston.
Quelch added:
“Acquiring the former Walkabout site is another important move for NEOS and a strong addition to our Brighton cluster.
We see Brighton as a key market and plan to continue developing our core concepts here. Trading in the first half of 2025 has been ahead of expectations, and we have a strong pipeline to grow further over the next 12 months.”
Walkabout Brighton, which previously occupied the site, closed in August after nearly a decade. In a farewell message, the team thanked their loyal customers, saying:
“After many unforgettable nights, incredible matches, epic parties, and memories made together, we’re sad to announce that Walkabout Brighton is closing its doors.”
With its energetic alpine décor, themed entertainment, and party-centric concept, Barbara’s Bier Haus is set to become Brighton’s newest hotspot for high-spirited nights out.
